Nitrile rubber (NBR) insulation is a flexible, closed-cell elastomeric foam designed for thermal efficiency and condensation control in HVAC/R systems. It boasts low thermal conductivity, high water vapor resistance, and acts as a barrier against frost and energy loss. It is available in Class 1 and Class O fire ratings for safety compliance. Class 1 Nitrile Insulation represents material with very low flame spread, suitable for general commercial and industrial application. It prevents the rapid spread of fire over the surface. Class O Nitrile Insulation is a higher, stricter standard than Class 1. Class O materials are Class 1 compliant and provide additional fire safety by limiting the amount of heat released, reducing smoke emission and prohibiting flame propagation. Both type are suitable for Chilled water piping and air conditioning ductwork, Refrigeration and solar pipework and Condensation control in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
